Every day more than 1 million implants are placed into human and animal bodies using open surgery. Lumigbo has developed a technology to build up implants inside the body using an access channel of less than half a millimeter in diameter. The procedure can be used for almost any type of implant. We have developed minimally viable prototypes for neurovascular, orthopedic and dental applications. Currently, we are improving our prototypes and expect to close round A in the third quarter of 2018.

Based on on-line data acquisition and efficient numerical modelling, Novamet develops an artificial intelligence to optimize melting process. This is aimed to reduce cycle time and energy consumption for a melting cycle by a 5 – 15 %. For a medium size recycling furnace that saves ~€0.5 Million / year and reduces the CO2 emissions equivalent to CO2 emission of 250 persons.

We want to close loop by mimicking nature, because in nature everything is reused. We are a waste valorisation company that strives for the full reuse of all discarded material.

Our first project valorises used coffee grounds of which 271kg are produced in Lausanne daily. Our process is threefold. First, we collect the coffee from local restaurants. Then, we use the coffee grounds to grow gastronomic oyster mushrooms. Lastly, after harvest, we reuse the coffee once more to produce fertiliser.

Conventional troponin tests are not sensitive enough and require multiple tests over 12 hours to detect heart attack, and are not portable for use outside of the hospital. Mobiosense has developed HERO, a portable, high sensitivity troponin test that allows hospitals to rule in/out heart attack in just 3 hours, and allows for use in ambulances to begin the diagnostic protocol at the patient's side immediately, greatly reducing ER overcrowding and directing patients to the correct path of care.

The system catches the signal of bluetooth beacons spread inside the environment and, thanks to proprietary artificial intelligence algorithms, it calculates the position of the user with an accuracy of about 1.5 meters.
