About Adhesys Medical:

We are an international medical device start-up seeking to revolutionize currently practiced wound closure by introducing next generation surgical adhesives. Recently acquired by The Gruenenthal GmbH and growing from a strong platform in Germany, we are currently in the process of building our US business and expanding our product portfolio. From our polyurethane based technology platform, we have developed two products. The first is designed for dermal and emergency use, to close topical and trauma induced wounds faster, more accurately and with fewer complications. The second shall be used in surgical procedures in the human body to reinforce suture lines and stop bleeding. More information can be found on our website:

About the Position

The chance to take a product from concept to manufacturing. To develop an applicator for military and emergency use, we are now looking for a Project Manager. Your job will be to coordinate the activities across various partners and functions within Adhesys and take ownership for design, execution and quality. You will report directly to the company’s co-founder and president.


As a key member of the small but growing team, you will have the chance to work hands-on to build a product and business:
• Overseeing the product’s development from concept design to serial manufacturing
• Developing and executing a project plan together with the project partners
• Ensuring the usability, effectiveness and cost-efficiency of the design
• Collaborate with the technical, regulatory and production teams within Adhesys
• Lead a part-time researcher on this project
• Fulfill project reporting requirements

Applicant requirements

We are looking for an entrepreneurial team player eager to make a difference!

Absolute must haves – Please do not apply if you do not meet ALL of those requirements:
• A degree in a relevant field – e.g. engineering or chemistry – and 3 years of work experience
• Project management experience in the development of at least 2 products with challenging engineering requirements
• Experience in the product development in the field of medical devices

Moreover, ideally you would have…

…worked with polyurethane based compounds and / or highly viscous materials
…hands on experience in regulatory and QM systems in accordance with 21 CFR Part 820
... worked in a very small team, where you did most of the work and didn’t have the chance to delegate it
